What the hell is going on in rock and roll? First Motley Crue now Guns N’ Roses? There was a time that being in Vegas was a joke. ‘Lounge Acts’…it was the fodder for many a hilarious Billy Murray SNL comedy sketch. C’mon, Wayne Newton? Need I say more?
But here comes the cornrow wearing bloated AXL Rose with a 12 show stint at the Hardrock Hotel and Casino arena ‘The Joint’ I don’t know if I should laugh or cry.
Titled the “Appetite for Democracy” residency it makes me think it should honestly be listed as the “Appetite for Buffet” residency. Get a load of Axls leg, lord don’t let him try that serpentine now it’ll look like a python swallowed a pony.
31 and running through November 24 are the dates to get your 80’s on. Bring the spandex and the Rogaine, ladies don’t forget the Aqua Net. Celine Dion, Barry Manilow, Cher, Elton John, Elvis, Sinatra……….and these guys?
With the cost of rock shows through the roof and no money to be made in recorded music I suppose this sort of park the truck type event is a good money making deal. There is enough 40 something’s with coin to plop it down to see these has beens and spin some roulette wheels. Could this be a new trend? Grab the has been rockers for a month or so and let the fans come to them? That may be it- it certainly seems to be trending with these ‘resort’ type stints. Devil horns and a babysitter-lets rock.
