I have already dedicated enough time to that horrible even called the Olympics. I don’t think anyone was blown away by the performance. As the reviews pour in and the analytics occur the fun really begins. Here in the US we got closing ceremonies at the discretion of NBC and the sponsors. What would get the most ad buck is what worked. If you tried to watch it in real time online, you were bombarded with more spot ads than humanly tolerable and you’re a saint for surviving it.
What is par for the course here is that some acts were cut or simply omitted. I say this- thank GOD they chose to air the full Spice Girls Bentley Square dance and chop out Ray Davies. I mean this was the legends of British Pop right?
What the hell were they thinking!
Ray was there amongst the clown clad pomp and ya didn’t even know it. Davies performed “Waterloo Sunset”, to a television crowd of none- unless you were in the UK.
This goes to prove another point. We get what we are served and without further investigation we accept it. Hey maybe there were other things ‘cut’ and we simply aren’t aware of them. But do we care enough to go figure it out? Not really.
Ray Davies getting cut and Ed Sheeran being kept is one of the most idiotic moves. Wait, unless NBC is affiliate with Sheeran, and One Directions labels.. now it sorta makes sense.
Anyway, you didn’t see it- so here it is.
