Jack White And His All-Girl Band Play A Surprise Show At Boyle Heights On Friday Afternoon

I have always the feeling to miss out something in LA, there is so much going on, and it couldn’t have been more true this Friday afternoon!

Around 2:30 pm, Third Man Records tweeted the following:

Jack White B show. B there. B square. Mariachi Plaza. Boyle Heights. 3:30 pm.’

What? And it was true, Jack White and his all-female entourage showed up on the small outdoor stage and played a 20-minute set. It was announced at the last minute (I don’t know if I could have made it if I had seen it on time) and happened in a neighborhood not used to such things.

According to the LA Times, locals were wondering what the fuss was all about, and about 50 happy hipsters had invaded the place. The band played some classics and some new material from ‘Blunderbuss’. It was a very hot day, temperatures reached the mid-90s, but the always-sharply-dressed White was wearing a plaid-pant, a long-sleeved black shirt and a fedora!

White was coming straight from a Q&A session at the Grammy Museum and left directly for the Shrine were he and his band were playing the same evening.

But he is super organized, the band’s gear was already set-up when they arrived, his rolling record store was also set up to sell limited-edition copies of the Blunderbuss White Lightning vinyl, and a van was right there, waiting for them immediately after the show. Isn’t it neat? Too neat may be? The surprise was that darkness-lover Jack White was playing in the middle of the day, under a bright hot sun.

Anyway, here are some pictures of the show twitted by fans!
