Shakira and Pitbull are like a Latino Sonny and Cher. She is so ridiculously beautiful and Pit so quirky that I swear its the oddest match. Shakira with her yodel like throaty vocal adds a the sanity to a rap by Pitbull that had my brow so furrowed I could store 'Sheets' energy strips (*note product placement, holla!) in it. And dont look now but I think he's wearing a light brown Members Only jacket…
Yet…it works wonderfully. The video full of Pitbull promotion (is that Voli "the world’s first line of low calorie vodkas") he's pouring in the opening scene? Is fun, sexy and makes no sense whatsoever just like all Pitbull songs no matter who he 'FT's'. The fact of it all is that this dance tune is fantastic and it reminds me yet again of how much I adore Shakira. She brings a cute sexuality to what she does, perhaps its her roundness maybe its the innocent eyes or perhaps it really is that odd yodel vocal that I find so endearing. That being said I am so glad this collaboration contains Ms Rrrrah ta ta.
So here's what happens Pitbull saves the girl from the abusive bad guy, feels her up on a fainting couch but he is awkwardly unsexy without the shades. He then has about a 2 second, through a tunnel car chase with the bad guy which he dodges out of and ends up on stage with his saved gal in the audience. Couldn't he just keep her stage side?
Pitbull is a genius he sings 99.9% about how 'Worldwide' he is and tosses in a few sentences about something to do with 'baby' and he hooks in someone to else (Usher, Chris Brown, Shakira) to actually sing. He should teach a course in this shit cuz for some reason as predictable and comedic it is I freakin love it every time. This song is awesome, the ending of the video makes me want to see him live (sweet God lets hope he never learns how to dance cuz its just too funny as it is now), I am 100% confident I would go to a live Pitbull show now so he needs to book Hartford or Boston right away before I change my mind.
