Pitbull stated he would visit the Walmart location that got the most likes on Facebook. David Thorpe, a writer out of Boston thought it would be hilarious to to send the Miami rapper to Alaska, and so it all began.
With the power of social media Mr. Worldwide ended up right there in Kodiak Alaska. What a sport, ay? Walmart has been ever good to Pitbull (whose name is actually Armando Christian Perez) and as we all know as a commodity he is tops and shameless.
The workers of Walmart were pretty stoked considering there really isn't a heap of fun going on up there, well what we consider fun anyway.
Pitbull received a key to the city from Kodiak Mayor Pat Branson, who sported dark glasses to mirror the rapper’s look.
Pitbull tweeted a picture of himself holding a child onstage alongside Alutiiq dancers and said, “Thank U Kodiak … I am honored, truly.”
The rapper, known as “Mr. Worldwide,” told the audience he would put Kodiak into a future song. 'Kodiak aint talkin back?" "Kodiak women got big ol booties?', wonder what he will say.
Pitbull received a care package Monday from Walmart during his visit to Kodiak, complete with bear repellent spray and bear bells used by hikers to make noise. I think bears would be scared enough with just the sound of one of Pitbulls tunes.
Still, I wish I'd seen it if only for the sheer novelty of it.
