Does anyone read magazines anymore? I look at pictures but by the time its in my mailbox or on the news stand I've already read about it or wrote about it and in a way that's a sad thing. I recall literally drooling on my porch as a kid waiting for Spin to arrive (that's when Spin didn't suck, just FYI on that)
Now I have a mystery subscription to Rolling Stone that never runs out. I am not ly lying I did not subscribe to it and I have been getting it steady eddy for three years now–wth? And I subscribe to Alternative Press. I don't really read it anymore, I don't like the silly pull out poster and the articles are dated but I want to support them because I love their mission. Kids need glossy.
A new 'one off' magazine from the publishers of Metal Hammer and Classic Rock have a cool idea and are requesting pre orders of "The Cure & The Story of The Alternative 80's" what a nifty idea for the 40+ somethings out there (and their kin). See that cover has The Birthday Party and Love and Rockets!! I don't understand the concept of 'pre order', but I suppose that will give them idea of how much money they will lose on the venture.
The issues is on news stands on August 17, so its not a huge wait and the cover is beautiful (suitable for framing!) If you are so inclined pre order here
