Im not a big fan of the 'co-headline' it never two bands I like and the one I came for always follows the one I hate. Its a horrible pattern that actally could snap with this one.
Boys Like Girls is a dumb name for a band and Im not a huge fan, but they dont suck and they have enough generic 'pop punk' to them to entertain me for 45 min or so before I crack. All American Rejects were wonderful but then they disappeared and came back more bubblegum then hip. So lets match these two up and see what we get.
Its logical, both of them contain teen scream lead singers so the young ladies in the house can get their 'woooo!' in and well its lighthearted candy floss for the ears.
Luckily both bands are in support of new music The All-American Rejects’ fourth studio album, Kids in the Street, was released in March and Boys Like Girls’ third full-length, Crazy World, is due out this fall so its not just a rehash of years gone by- but there is a risk that the new stuff will suck. Take the risk these guys are worth the attempt.
Apparently they love eachother as well cuz here is the stroking quotes from both camps:
“I’ve always been a big fan of The All-American Rejects and couldn’t be more delighted to be sharing the stage with them this fall,” Boys Like Girls frontman Martin Johnson said. “I think it’s going to be a great time for both the fans and bands alike. Looking forward to a really great couple of months.”
And here’s what All-American Rejects guitarist Nick Wheeler has to say about the tour.
“We’re beyond stoked to be touring the U.S. again this fall. It’ll be great being out with Boys Like Girls. We haven’t toured with those dudes since 2006, so it should be a fun and memorable reunion for everyone!” Sept. 13 – Hampton Beach, N.H., Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom
