Lamb Of God's Randy Blythe, lingering in a Czech Republic jail since June 27th, despite posting bail, will be back before the judge.
If you don't know the story, in 2010 Daniel Nosek fell at a Lamb Of God concert in Prague and died of a brain hemorrhage. Unknown to the band, a warrant was made out for lead singer and when the band returned last month, Randy was arrested but not charged for David's murder.
This is occurring in slow motion, like Alfred Hitchcock's "The Wrong Man" or something, and Randy's family is being so careful; right now my feeling is they don't want to spook the government.
The US Government hasn't said a word, though, although the US Department Of State's "Diplomacy In Action website claims: "Relations between the U.S. and the Czech Republic are excellent and reflect the common approach both have to the many challenges facing the world at present. The U.S. looks to the Czech Republic as a partner in issues ranging from Afghanistan to the Balkans, and seeks opportunities to continue to deepen this relationship."
That being the case, it wouldn't take much of a push from Hilary Clinton to get Blythe released from custody. I mean we are not discussing the Plastic People Of The Universe here, folks. And my guess is stuff is happening behind the scenes. Look at it this way: LOG are not Pissed Jeans. They are signed to Sony Music, they have supported Metallica on tour, they are a successful band and they have powerful people who are working, I guess, to get Randy out.
I have only two real fears here:
1. Ignorance of hardcore culture may be causing the Secretary Of Defense to claim indifference to his fate, leaving Randy in the middle of a court system he doesn't understand
and
2. There is something nobody is being told about the case.
Stay tuned.
