Hmm, this is one landmark I have no interest in seeing and from what I understand you can buy a star. I thought you had to earn it but apparently that's not the case. There are a limited number created each year and the Class of 2012 had been announced.
Musically speaking its almost embarrassing, three veteran artists made the cut. Both Janis Joplin and Luther Vandross are being given stars posthumously, an honor that previously went to the likes of Buddy Holly and George Harrison. Also receiving a star are the New Kids on the Block who are being joined by their more modern counterparts the Backstreet Boys. Other musicians receiving stars are Jennifer Hudson, Jane's Addiction, Usher and Thalia.
What the hell Jennifer Hudson? The prestige of this event just tanked like a rock. She does Weight Watcher commercials and originated with American Idol. I actually cannot believe she will hold the same distinction as George Harrison among others. Anything for a buck and her fans must have had alot of car washes to pull this one off.
There are a total of 25 recipients this year, and now there is no reason for fanfare.
