I get it. fun. is a great new band and everyone is so excited that they have lost their marbles. This past week as I wandered the wilds of Maine, every damn shop I went to had fun on the speakers. "Carry You Home Tonight…" who the hell is going to carry these three guys home?
Yesterday they were the musical guest on the Today show. They looked tired and preppy and old and in high def Nate needs a shave but is pompadour stands proud. Nice guys….over worked guys…..over exposed guys. I'm concerned
Ann Currie ask them about their new success and is told it was a long process. They're happy to tour with their friends. They're grateful for Glee for their positive message. They don't mind waking up at 5:15 to be on talk shows, they're so grateful and happy and thrilled and honored and happy and having………………..fun
Lets face it Nate your fucking sick and tired of singing 'We Are Young", youre vocal chords hate it already. And no matter how many different inflections or slow downs you do its getting a bit tedious. Right? It's great to do 'what you love" with your 'friends' but like a cake buffet if you keep eating it without break you're going to puke your lungs out in a frosting induced coma.
fun needs a little break. The endless touring on 2 albums and the increasing swell of popularity are gonna send these guys right in to Ke$ha land….along with a million others before her. Where the hell has she gone? She woke up in the morning feeling like P Diddy and poof…..
I am not faulting the band. You must ride your wave of success but really an 'intelligent' band i.e. a band without bubblegum wrappers and teen scream sex symbols really should maintain a bit of decorum to sustain. Rather than flogging 'We Are Young" how about a 6 month break to record your next hurrah?
Henry and Mary may kill me for this but they're younger and weaker than I am. I think fun is a great band I just want them to remain one. If I am already getting a bit 'sick' of them- what about regular joes who hear it all day on their pop radio? Mute key?
Don't get me wrong its a great summer anthem but these 3 boys need a nap.
