I find it hard to be objective regarding Lita Ford, so I wont. I can start off by saying she's is a talented woman and holds a wonderful place in history for women in rock and roll- other than that, I got nothing.
Ford, former member of The Runaways seems to be a bit melancholy and longing for the good old days now that she has split from her reportedly abusive husband David Gillette. For a bad ass rocker chick I find her describing her relationship as "Ike and Tina Turner" a bit over done. I didn't live in their home, so I will just give it a nod and mark it as questionable. I am not sure what court would offer custody of children to the father let alone a father with a history of abuse. Something isn't right but its not my life.
Lita wants to hang with her Runaway pals again- as a matter of fact she wants a reunion. When you fuck up your life you always want a 're-do', perhaps this is the plan. She wants back in good graces with Joan Jett.
In an interview with Rolling Stone Lita Ford stated the following, “I hadn’t talked to Joan in so long – 1980 was the last time, when the Runaways broke up.
“I asked my manager Bobby Colin if he’d put in a call to Kenny Laguna, Joan’s manager, and try to arrange a dinner for us. He arranged a dinner in New York City.
“I took Rudy Sarzo with me – as a friend only – and Joan took Kenny with her. We had a nice dinner. It was real friendly, like seeing your sister. We talked about old times and Joan gave me Cherie’s contact information. When I was on the west coast I had dinner with Cherie.”
They discussed the possibility of working together again, but the results were inconclusive. “I don’t know how Joan feels about it,” Ford reports. “I couldn’t really get a solid answer from her.
“But I just wanted her to know that I’m here, and if she decides she wants to put together the Runaways again, I’d be in 100percent.”
