When last we left the odd couple the 85 year old Bennett was sketching a nude Lady Gaga for for fun and charity. This interesting pair first met up for the recording of "The Lady Is A Tramp" for the 'Duets 2" album Cute idea but the two are like Bff's now.
I'm not sure what it is that I find disturbing. Perhaps its a legendary crooner with mad cred actually acknowledging that a fraud like Gaga exists that irks me. I personally find her to be a walking nightmare and aside from a couple of good tunes- more flash than substance. Tony Bennett on the other hand and decades of croon behind him and pretty much owns his niche now that all the others have croaked.
Bennett has actually escorted Gaga to the opening of her parents restaurant.. Its just odd and disturbing and I am not suggesting anything other than platonic friends but this is similar to Sinatra hanging out with Carly Rae Jepson– its just sorta shmarmy.
Gaga would like to do a full album with Tony- most likely so he can carry her useless ass through it all. Tony Bennett tells Britain’s Metro newspaper, “She’s a very talented person. I was with her parents recently and they said she’d like to make an album with me. I’d like to do that, too. I’m looking forward to it.”
