Fist there was Motorhead shiraz, the filthy heavy metal band had their own wine. Now, they have a beer. Do bands no longer make music? These old dudes pedal merch and swill and do reunion gigs.
The beer with the cool label and the cooler name is only available in Sweden. Why? Because it is being unveiled at the 2012 Sweden Rock Festival, so we may never have it stateside, as the official Motorhead Drinks (the drinks have a website?!) website reads, “at this moment only in the Swedish market.”
Here is the bands description of their swill, “Motorhead Bastards Lager is a gloriously fresh and fruity beer with a wonderful character of light malt. It’s easy to drink but has a hard rock edge. It’s perfect for all those occasions when you feel that craving for a cold beer such as those summer barbecues and picnics, naturally with music pumping at full blast through the loudspeakers. OK that's a PR error- rock and roll fans of all ages…that's pretty darn funny and a marketing blurb that would never cut it in the US.
