Afro Punk Festival 2012 Lineup Announced

Born in 2005 Brooklyns Afro-Punk Fest sets out to prove that punk rock isnt just for white kids. According the the festival site “the cultural cornerstones of Afro-Punk: music, film, skate, and most importantly, the fiercely independent and influential individuals that are the lifeblood of the AP community,” according to AfroPunk.com.

A huge Brooklyn music event can only mean one thing- massive insanity and fun times ahead.  The lineup is impressive and I think there are rocknyc writers who should be there but will be too busy shoving themselves in to their new dorms.

The 2012 fest is set for Aug. 25-26 at Brooklyn’s Commodore Barry Park.  Eriykha  Badu will appear withh The Cannabinoids, and the rest of the lineup features Gym Class Heroes, Janelle Monae, Das Racist, Skindred, Toro Y Moi, Reggie Watts, Spank Rock, Ninjasonik, Toshi Reagon, Straight Line Stitch, The Memorials, Radkey, Bad Rabbits, Gordon Voidwell, The London Souls, Cerebral Ballzy, Phony Ppl, Body Language and more.
