Queen was a rock and roll band. They sang to stadiums they had ridiculous guitar solos and a powerful singer who was charismatic and owned the stage.
fun. are a pop band with a wonderful pop sound and a powerful singer with charisma and a awkward shyness that is very endearing.
As similar as the tones of Fredddie Mercury and Nate Ruess may be, that's where the comparison should end. Ruess a more theater based vocal to Freddies rock and roll yell.
That being said fun are a fantastic band that blend that Broadway boom of vocal with a nice simple pop melody and some really fantastic lyrics. They have just realeased a 'teaser' video for their next single "Some Nights".
What a huge production for this tune. I love when videos just get a bit too over the top. They become more entertaining and lets face it these guys arent big on stage prescence so its nice to see another artistic vantage.
Now lets not get in a tizzy I am not in anyway saying fun is anything less than stellar and a great addition to our pop world. I am saying that they are not showmen but rather are a more audible treat.
And they arent Queen so stop that nonesense right this second.
