600 Units Sold Will Get You In Billboard's Top 50

Last year it was the Drums sophomore effort I was just about alone in championing, this year it is Best Coast. I adore The Only Place, but, fast on the heels of a pathetic Pitchfork pan (the same folks who got MIA's second album completely wrong).

The album is at # 48 in the charts and, asI read in facebook, if it goes below 600 units shifted a week, it will fall out of Billboard's Top 50.

Hold on a second, it will DROP OUT OF THE TOP 50???

All it takes to get in the Top 50 right now, is 600 units moved. I am sure 100 units moved will get you in Billboard's 200. What the hell is a hit record? Isn't there any such animal.

That's the bad news, the good news is that when Toyota or Chrystler picks up the single, Best Coast will bang right back up.
