Me having to watch a Nickelodeon program?
Blame it on the flu, but I didn’t send her out of the room to cover this show. Funny how similar the slapstick sort of ‘boing’ moments are rehashed ala The Monkees. Come to think of it alot of the jumping in excitement was choreographed Monkee no doubt.
The four major food groups were there “the smart one”, the ”funny one”, the “nervous one” and the “cute one”
The show was tolerable which is more than I can say for most on this network. The premise is cookie cutter, boys get in a jam, boys make it worse trying to fix it, Mom steps in to help.. the day is saved. Nice message. Good clean fun.
I will say the Magpie bust out laughing at the exact moments she was supposed to- at the dino nuggets, at the cat shaving, at the ‘oh no” moments.
I liked the Monkees better but this wasn’t a train wreck at all.

Me? Liking a Nickelodeon show? Say it isn’t so.
Well it is. Big Time Rush, a show about four hockey players from Minnesota have the chance to be rockstars, and they take the chance. It’s witty, funny and safe but for real music scenesters, it’s amusing and interesting and not too much like Spongebob or iCarly. The same kind of music you’d get anywhere else in the scene, only the lyrics are about their endeavors and it’s silly. Nickelodeon, kudos to you for appealing to a different audience. It’s about time.
