I like streaming free- alot. It is a way to sample music cleanly and in the case of some such as Jack White, actually build excitement for the actual 'release date'.
AOL is really owning this movement with their 'Listening Party' series. They take a few LPs and let them loose for all to hear. This latest round caught my eye simply based on the diversity of the artists.
Marilyn Manson and Norah Jones. This to me is the most 'eh?' inspiring combo yet. Even the titles are funny side by side Norah Jones ' Little Broken Hearts ' and Marilyn Manson album 'Born Villain'
"Born Villain" was actually released on Tuesday- that same industrial goth slow tempo metal that Manson is famous for but there is that Johnny Depp thing (I'm kidding that was sorta lame)
Along with Norah Jones there are streams by Dion Roy, Ruin Renewal, Nick Africano, The Hurt, That Noble Fury and others that I am completely unfamiliar with. Another great reason to stream- discover something new! http://music.aol.com/new-releases-full-cds#/2,
