The Ultra Music Festival takes place every year in Miami Fl. The event took place in Bayfront Park, overlooking Biscayne Bay on one side and overlooked by the towering downtown Miami skyline This year I was lucky enough to attend with a few of my friends from Manchester UK, we were staying in South Beach which is about 5 miles from the event so we took cabs which cost around $20.00 Thousands of people from all over the world were there for the electronic music and to party. There is no place where you can see so many talented DJ’s in one place which was set up with the main stage area, divided up in to eight different stages. UK’s Annie Mac and Carl Cox both hosting their own stage on different days. On Saturday Annie Mac had the more interesting line up with Brodinski and Gesaffelstein. On Sunday, Crosstown Rebels artists Seth Troxler, Jamie Jones, Damian Lazarus and Art Department played the Worldwide stage while superstar DJs Kaskade, David Guetta and Armin van Buuren took over the main arena. Then Afrojack turned up to party on stage with his girlfriend Paris Hilton
The line up was diverse and well rounded. Hundreds of DJ’s from around the world come to play and its one of the biggest music festival ever.
The atmosphere was amazing and its none stop, the event its self was very well organized with so many people coming and going all day long there were no lines and no problems at all over the three day’s that I was there. They have detailed programs for each day which is very helpful. The security was pretty tight but that is only to be expected. To me it was an experience of a life time.
DJ's included… Laidback Luke, Afrojack, Tiesto, Avicii, Benny Benassi, Carl Cox, David Guetta, Above and Beyond, Groove Armada, Armin Van Buuren, Erick Morillo, Skrillex and Chris Lake just to name a few and even Madonna made a guest appearance on the Saturday ( I missed her which I am so pissed off about)
The main stage with the headline acts were unreal and as it went dark they turned on the most amazing light showwith hypnotic and pulsating lights and screen art at each stage they had fire, smoke and lazars.. The crowd was amazing and filled up every spare inch of space, people danced everywhere even in the trees so be prepared to dance, dance dance, sometimes all you could see was flashing camera lights and hands going up in the air, people would go wild with excitement when a band played their favorite tune. This is the best Music Festival that I have been to so far in my life I am hoping to return next year, I loved Miami the weather was great and the people were great !
