You know what? Fuck Coachella! It’s overpriced, over-crowded, over-heated, and over-rated! And people are going to see… The Black Keys? but I saw them front row, in the comfortable, air-conditioned setting of the Palladium, and I was home afterwards in like 15 minutes! It was enough and satisfying. I can’t imagine seeing Radiohead after a day under the burning sun, running from one stage to another all day long, dehydrated and tired. There is simply no enjoyment!
So for people who cannot afford the pricey festival, or just don’t want to suffer too much in the Indio valley, there is… Brokechella 2012, at Six01 Studios in the Los Angeles warehouse district, on April 21, during the second Coachella weekend!
From the video below, it looks ghetto enough for me, it’s only 5 bucks, and many bands will perform on the main stage: Gypsy Death Star, The Dead Ships, Rumspringa, The Janks, yOya, Big Moves, Das Tapes, Tapioca and the Flea, LA FONT, INFANTREE.
There will also be DJ's on the outdoor stage: Dannahan, gladiator, GOJ!RA, The KiD, Smiles, Cooper Saver, T.B.E (Littlefoot x Koncan X Pilo), Robin People.
The festival is presented by cARTel (Collaborative Arts LA), and they have promised special guests, tons of artists, food, swag bags, and so much more.
Swag bags? I want one! The funny thing is that some of these bands may be part of a Coachella line-up in the future, who knows?
