Noooo don’t do it! The idea is super tempting but I don’t really think it is a good one. According to Spinner, James Mc Cartney, Paul’s son said in a BBC interview that Beatles, the second act, could become a reality. He said he has spoken to Dhani Harrison and Sean Lennon and the three could form a band! Too bad that Ringo Starr’s son does not want to be part of the party, as James explained:
‘I don't think it's something that Zak [Starkey] wants to do. Maybe Jason [another of Starr's sons and also drummer] would want to do it. I'd be up for it. Sean seemed to be into it, Dhani seemed to be into it. I'd be happy to do it.’
I don’t know about Starr’s sons but James, Sean and Dhani all have a musical career, Sean is part of the Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger and Dhani has The New No2 (which I saw and found quite good actually), so why would they do this?
But James is optimistic about the possible 'reunion', even declaring: ‘Yeah, hopefully, naturally. I don't know, you'd have to wait and see. The will of God, nature's support, I guess. So yeah, maybe.’
The will of God? I hope God is like me and disagrees with this reunion. And what would they play? Beatles songs? They would become a cover band before they actually exist. Despite the fact that the four sons look a lot like their respective fathers, the past is the past, you can never resuscitate the past, it is gone and it is better to leave it like that.
