There is no better singer-songwriter in the world today than Conor. He has spent fifteen years at the top of his game and in between has written some of the best songs this century.
I would love to quiz him about “I Got The Reason”. I’d love to see if I could figure out the toy lady killer who learnt how to rhyme. Goddam make me cry.
I am thisclose to getting the sit down but can’t close the deal. I don’t blame him, mind. What is there in it for the bloke? Certainly not much publicity. But Stickles is a supersmart guy who can write a song that makes you feel good to be alive even when you are wondering what the hell you are alive for. He has written my two fave songs of 2010. Yes, BOTH OF THEM.
