Dan Auerbach will produce the next Hanni El Khatib's album

When I read this I thought it was totally making sense. The LAWeekly has an article about LA musician Hanni El Khatib who released his first album ‘Will the Guns Come Out’ last year, and they are announcing that Black Keys frontman and guitarist Dan Auerbach is gonna produce Khatib’s next album later this year.

Khatib’s 50s-inspired furious bluesy style injected by a punk energy has often been compared to that of the Black Keys, so yeah, I suppose it was something to expect! This is how the two met according to Khatib:

A friend owns a bar in Paris and introduced us when I was deejaying after a show. He went deep into music and started dropping knowledge about all these obscure L.A. bands. We ended up going back and forth deejaying all night.’

Then, Khatib designed the logo for Auerbach's studio in Nashville, I haven’t seen it but Khatib was previously a creative director for a skateboard fashion label and a designer for an advertising agency.

And what about this new album? This is how he described it:

‘My new songs lean toward '60s garage but without nostalgia. I want a record that makes sense to me today’.

Sure, it had never been question of nostalgia in his music.
