Lady Gaga makes $30 million a year from her Twitter account!

How is this even possible? When he spoke to the Wall Street Journal, Impact Branding and Design marketing manager John Bonini declared that Lady Gaga’s Twitter’s account, with its 20 million followers, makes her even richer than she is: $30 million to be exact according to his estimation, so a third of her total earning for last year.

‘She really engages them and re-tweets stuff they say as if she was one of them’ said Bonini, but I still don’t understand how this is making money… there is no adds on her Twitter page!

Still according to Bonini, ‘Twitter creates a bond and loyalty with her fans who otherwise may be tempted to download her music illegally. Of course, it doesn't hurt that tweets from @ladygaga automatically appear on her Facebook page, which has over 49 million likes’.

So If I understand correctly, Twitter doesn’t bring her more money, rather it prevents her to lose money, which is the same in economic reasoning. However, it can’t apply to many Twitter account owners, Gaga has 20 million followers, I have 200, and nothing to sell…
