Beach House New Song "Myth" Reviewed

The indie duo Beach House has just revealed a new song via Twitter, ‘Myth’, a really pretty tune, all blurred with the usual sonic palette of the Baltimore duo. It is a four-minute atmospheric dream with turning and repetitive guitars, behind Victoria Legrand’s deep and distinct vocals, flying higher at mid-song.

The song builds this airy ascending impression, then reaches a new level with an unexpected wider-screen effect, and lyrics like ‘Found yourself in a new direction/Eons far from the Sun/Can you come when they come to reach you/Let you know you’re not the only one’, keeping a soothing melancholia till the end.

Beach House will supposedly release their new album ‘Bloom’ on May 15th, but the band's label, Sub Pop, hasn’t confirmed the details yet. It would be the band's first studio album since their 2010 acclaimed ‘Teen Dream’.

Here is the tracklist of ‘Bloom’:

01 Myth
02 Wild
03 Lazuli
04 Other People
05 The Hours
06 Troublemaker
07 New Year
08 Wishes
09 On the Sea
10 Irene
