1. Release me – Lyle Lovett – there is something bone dry about Lovett, he always seems to be waving goodbye to some lovely in his review mirror. And here, taking on a song that I at least know mainly as a fullblown MOR ballad, he downplays it, adds some violins, and as a final act of liquidying the song, adds KD Lang on back up.
2. Stupid Hoe – Nicki Minaj – Helen has been bangin' this joint for weeks now. Gotta tell ya, it's Nicki's best move since "Super Bass".
3. Midnight City – Dubstep Kings – Dubstep Kings are to dubstep what Punk Goes Pop is to punk. So if you like dubstep you'll like this ciover.
4. Born A Zero – Deer Tick – I've never much cared for this band except maybe more in theory than in practise, if this is the first time I've seriously concentrated on them maybe I am lucky this high quotient energy pop indie track is my first date. Plus, the singer has a great upper register,
5. The Advent of Panurge – Gentle Giant – Giving prog-rock a good name, they throw in "Yankee Doodle Dandee" on a whistle flute for kicks.
6. Not Much Left Of Us – Craig Finn – So how good was he live? Er, emm… I'll tell you tomorrow.
7. Good Girl – Carrie Underwood – Worst song on Earth.
8. Save Me Jesus – Bobby Charles – Folkie country fellow worries about the state of the world. Must be the 60s.
9. VIP – Sinead O'Connor
10. Please Please Please – Fiona Apple – Now I'm gonna see her at Governor's Island, we're talking again.
