After touring with Wilco, you'd think Nick Lowe would take to the easy chair. That cool cat is doing just the opposite. He is repacking and coming back to the States for a brief spring tour.
Lowe will headline with his longtime band consisting of keyboardist Geraint Watkins, drummer Robert Trehern, Johnny Scott on guitar and bassist Matt Radford.
This tour will be in promotion of 2011 album 'The Old Magic' and will kick off with a gig at Minneapolis’ First Avenue April 18. Other stops include Milwaukee at Turner Hall April 19; Chicago’s Park West April 20; New York City at Town Hall April 25; Boston’s Wilbur Theater April 26; Alexandria, Va., at The Birchmere April 30 and Atlanta’s Variety Playhouse May 3.
Legends like Lowe don't come around too often. When they do its best to seize the opportunity. Plus you never know who will show up as guest on one of his dates, for example, perhaps Elvis Costello at the NYC gig? hmmm…
