Robyn Whitehead, the granddaughter of Teddy Goldsmith, the founder of The Ecologist magazine and brother of the billionaire Sir James Goldsmith, was found dead of a drug overdose last night.
According to NME: “Whitehead’s documentary about The Libertines is entitled The Road To Albion. and was nearing completion. It features rare early footage of the band. It has been suggested that Whitehead was beginning work on a second film about Babyshambles”
There is something very sad about talented people playing Russian roulette with drugs. We’ve all done drugs so we can’t preach, it’s like we’ve all been in cars but not all of us have died in car accidents. Still, I hope Pete Doherty, who got fined for taking heroine into court yesterday, should take heed.
