Hesta Prynn, former Northern State rapper, goes solo

I was a huge fan of “female beastie boys via long island” Northern State back in the day and so I felt a bit queasy at the news she has gone solo. She’s playing Piano’s tomorrow (I’m gonna be at Cold War Kids gig or I’d seriously consider it). I have heard “Can We Go Wrong” and found the voice worryingly blah even for dance but I’ve returned to it three times now and it is really pretty good. Yet, I am not sure it plays to the playfulness so fundamental to Northern State. I’m in wait and see mode but I will definitely bother seeing.
