Octupus’s Garden/Sun king – from the love mash-up which is pretty good but not here.
Penny Lane – One side of the absolute zenith of psychedelic pop and everybody has tried to write a song this great and hasn’t and it has one of the great Beatle lines: “Though she feels as if she’s in a play she is anyway” and it’s all Macca. It’s like one side is a bad trip and the other takes the curse off.
Don’t Let Me Down – What impresses me most about Let It Be is how wonderfully Mccartney harmonizes with Lennon.
Misery – Sounds like Lennon to me. From Please please me where they couldn’t feel miserable if they tried.
Ask Me Why – There is nothing I don’t adore on Please Please me. Why when they sing “My happiness makes me wanna cry” does Lennon sing with sorrow in his voice. And what’s with the “I can’t conceive of any more misery” -which I wanna make into a tee. And how about the “I love you because you tell me things I wanna know”. Same reason I love Mike and Helen.
Love you To – Listen pop pickers, the sitar sucks.
Mr. Moonlight – Lennon the rock fiend. I don’t think I’ve heard the original to this date!!!
You Won’t See Me – Zoom, back in the back of my mum’s Corsair.
It’s All Too Much – When Harrison is writing the best songs on an album, the muse has left the building.
Devil In Her Heart – If I felt like it I could make a case for this being the best song on the album
Love Me Do – Killer harmonica by dr. winston o’boogie
Blue Jay Way – Ugh
She Said, She Said – Off the Beatles best album, the Beatles best pun.
I’ll Follow The Sun – Macca wrote a better (much better version) earlier: “Things We Said Today”.
Any Time At All – You can shuffle beatle songs and find songs to flip you out.
