Heath as Dylan, Charlotte as his wife
All I really Wanna Do – Somebody was telling me how moving this song. A call for friendship. I read it is a pure act of cynicism that would come back and bite him around the time of “Most Likely you Go Your Way And I go Mine” – plus if we didn’t wanna knock her up he should wear a condom.
I Feel A Change Comin’ On – A real goodie off the 2009 effort that wasn’t a ridiculous mess. It is an odd song though similar quasi-raggy-straggler, positive and negative and time at the same time.
Trying To Get To Heaven – This aint timeless, because Time Out Of Mind is seeped in passing time. Some ten years before Together Through Life and he sounded so much older.
Absolutely Sweet Marie – The greatest Dylan ever? One of em I sware. George Harrison did a great cover at the MSG 40th anniversary. I start singing with that opening lick: “You’re railroad gate, you know I just can’t jump it…”
Honey, Just Allow Me One More Chance – freewheelin’
In The Summertime – Does he mean Jesus? I mean, it’s from a born again album. Can’t figure it out…
I And I – Rasta seen thru the refracted nightmare of a man who has found and lost God. And there’s a girl still asleep in his bed.
Shooting Star – goddam makes me cry for the loves lost, from Oh Mercy which was fairly overrated.
Mozambique – from the iffy Desire, and the first of his worst two albums (not including the unlistenable Christmas one).
I Shall Be Free # 10 – He wasn’t different than any one.
It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue – I think this song is a rarity. Everything has been said about it.
All Along The Watchtower – Even Zim prefers Hendrix’s cover.
