MusiCares provides assistance those in the music industry in times of need. MusiCares' services and resources cover a wide range of financial, medical and personal issues, and each case is treated confidentiality. MusiCares also focuses the resources and attention of the music industry on human service issues that directly impact the health and welfare of the music community.
Simply said musicians don't have insurance and no reliable income- so there is an organization that assists. MusiCares is that organization and each year it offers an award to one of their own who has supported their program.
Last years winner was Neil Young. Tradition holds that the previous years winner will perform for the new year award recipient. Well what luck for Paul McCartney to have the joy of Neil Young and reunited Crazy Horse to wallow on him this year. A nasal sweaty side burned offertory to the knight of nothing.
February 10th Tony Bennett, the cast of Cirque Du Soleil, Coldplay, Duane Eddy, Foo Fighters, Alicia Keys, Diana Krall, Allison Krauss and Union Station, Norah Jones, Sergio Mendes, Katy Perry and James Taylor. Why I can hardly contain my enthusiasm.
MusiCares is an honorable organization with some wacky honorees.
Pretty sure their will be an album out of this, funds going to charity of course…looking at this photo from Crazy Horses past..it seems ol' Neil looked like Chewbacca even back then.
