I was wondering whether they had broken up since I hadn’t heard about them for a very long time. But the Polyphonic Spree, the extra-large band from Texas, has woken up and suddenly announced some tour dates.
Although only a few dates in the Southeast have been posted, more dates will follow as they actually are planning to tour the US in the coming months, for the first time in more than 4 years.
I remember seeing them, it must have been at least 6 years ago, and their infectious enthusiasm coupled with their uplifting giant choral was received like a collective ecstasy pill by the audience. Damn! Some people were really into it, wearing gospel robes and jumping till they were entering in an exhilarating trance. Passed the fake cult-effect they actually were quite entertaining, and Tim DeLaughter was the frontman of the moment. We just have to see if they can recover from this long absence.
