Los Angelinos, clear out your January 26th day, it’s gonna be an historic moment,… maybe. Michael Jackson’s three children,Prince, Paris and Blanket will put their father’s shoes and gloves on and will make footprint and handprint in the concrete in front of Hollywood Grauman’s Chinese Theater. Can we do that? Make posthumous prints? I guess it is a premiere.
These kids, whose faces were not allowed to see sunlight when their father was alive, are now largely exposed as this footprint ceremony is part of the promotion for the Los Angeles debut of Cirque du Soleil’s ‘Michael Jackson, The Immortal World Tour, whose premiere they have already attended with their grandmother.
The show is supposed to combine Jackson’s music with The Cirque du Soleil’s acrobatics, and will run January 27 to 29 in Los Angeles Staples Center.
Before, only movie stars had this supreme honor, but I guess since David Guetta did it, it will only go downhill. On a side note, the LA Times is reporting that the new owners, movie producer Donald Kushner and entrepreneur Elie Samaha, have removed some deteriorating prints and replaced them with Jennifer Aniston’s, Kobe Bryan’s, and even the Smurfs and the Chipmunks’!! What did I say? Downhill.
Going back to Jackson, who was not a movie star either, let’s just say that this is another example of the estate milking everything it can to keep theattention on the pop star and capitalizing on his death.
