The Violin, The Student and The Mega Bus

I would like to say this is a case of mankind is good at heart but I wonder if the value were known the story would have the same outcome.

Megabus, the low cost bus service recovered and returned a $172,000.00 violin to its rightful owner- thanks to the cleaning crew.

Muchen Hsieh, a 19 yr old student left the instrument in the overhead compartment on a Boston to Philly busride.

The violin was lent to her by Chi Mei Culture Foundation in Taiwan for her use while studying in the US.  Why they send kids out with uber expensive strings is beyond logic but I am sure its with cause. Right?

The student discovered her error after the bus had pulled away.

Megabus director Bryony Chamberlain said “It could have been quite a tragedy on Christmas, but in the end we were able to trace down the violin and put it back as soon as we could,” Chamberlain said.

Happy ending for ya…
