Panda Bear’s last album probably made the 2011 best album list of many blogs and magazines (it made Iman’s, at the relative low rank of #62), but just in time to remind everyone that ‘Tomboy’ was indeed released this year, Noah Lennox has given us this official video for ‘You can Count on Me’ on Monday.
As usual with Panda Bear, it is an abstract experience going on the trippy psychedelic side, with a few close-ups of human and canine lips and wet tongues that can make you borderline uncomfortable (only if you are not into that kind of closeness with animals).
While watching these two hypnotic and hallucinogenic minutes and half, I realized I have a strange relationship with Panda Bear. His album was released in April, so quite some time ago, and I liked it, but I have rapidly overdosed on it. Eleven tracks of this stuff may be too much, I was drowning half way through it…. But listening to this song after a few months off is like a rebirth.
