Christofer Drew, "Unwinding" Reviewed

This kid actually cracks me up. First in what I presume to be a series of "Bedroom Tapes", is Chris Drew of Never Shout Nevers self love on an unmade bed.

He has back up singers in his room!  There is something incredibly amusing about a skinny little kid in a raccoon hat singing on his bed.  He tries so hard to be so cool but he really just plain isn't.

The problem with this little rant is that aside from the fact that I expected his mom to yell "honey its suppertime" from outside his door or his dad to go by in a towel- the song is really pretty.

Drew's voice is as quirky as ever- that odd yodel thing he does, but time has taught him to drop it an octave or so now and then and here it comes off beautifully.  The kid has talent- and not much of a brain.  He's a bit too scattered and the focus on his brain lens needs to be tweaked.

There could be greatness in store for this guy if he could just show some consistency.  The screamo, the yodel, the emo, the pop boy…as much as people admire a chameleon, its inevitable that we grow tired of them.

This is a great song by a talented boy who needs to put a shirt on.
