"Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah – James Baskett –  "Song Of the South" -a wonderful precursor to "Mary Poppins" from 1946, won James Baskett a special academy award for his portrayal of Unckle Remus.  But you wouldn't know it because Disney refuse to release it on video, after claims that the movie, a retelling telling of Briar rabbits misadventures, perpetuated racial myths. The problem is, it is deeply immoral to write people or movies out of history because the mores and morals of 1946 are not acceptable in 1986 or 2011. Baskett died in 1948 at the age of 44. But the very popular, impossible not to like, "Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah" leaves everything satisfactory after all these years.

2. Light Speed – Grieves – These guys are the real deal though a little goes a long way. The dark hues of a Kid Cudi are mixed with the sampling influence of a RZA. On this song, everything clicks. The flow, the click clack drum machine, impressive stuff.

3. Like A Shotgun – The Mighty Mighty Bosstones – All you get from these guys is more of the same. Years on and they crank their ska songs and they're great.

4. Mr. Know It ALl – Kelly Clarkson – Yeah, the new song is a little disappointing but it ain't that bad.

5. Face To The Floor – Chevelle – Strummy, hard rocky. Of the type, one of the best.

6. Blue Moon – The Marcels – How good was "An American Werewolf In London"? They hijacked this song.

7. It's Not You (It's Me) – T-Pain, Chuckie, Pitbull 8. Leaving New Brunswick – For Science – Years later, I have no idea how I missed this one.

9. A Song For You – Amy Winehouse – One of her best covers, maybe the best thing about Lioness.

10. The Needle And The Damage Done – Neil Young – Best line? "Every junkies like a setting  sun".
