Former The Academy Is…, front man William Beckett has a great gift of attempting to hit notes that are too high and coming squeaking. Its a sound that can be annoying and headache inducing by some but with him- it works
The only thing about this new song is the "OWWW" screams in the quiet moments. Why do people feel the need to do that? I never was a "WWOOOO" girl and for the life of me I cant figure what the purpose is other than to piss people off.
This song should begin a new chapter for Beckett as a more mature (yet still very young) perfomer with a giant future ahead. I am unsure what went down wth The Academy Is… but Im very pleased to see that he is still on the move. The last thing I would want is for him to hang up the music gig- he just simply has that 'IT' factor that is so needed in the blandness of pop.
A great song and hopefully a glimpse into new projects.
