Nada Surf Tour North America

In honor of their 7th album old school alt band Nada Surf has announced some US tour dates.  The new lp titled, The Stars Are Indifferent To Astronomy will be released  Jan. 24, the same day the U.S. tour kicks off in New York at the Bowery Ballroom.

Dates include,  stops in San Francisco (March 21); Portland, Ore. (March 23); Salt Lake City (March 27); Denver (March 29); Omaha, Neb. (March 30); Minneapolis (March 31); Chicago (April 2); Boston (April 6); New York (April 7); and Philadelphia (April 9).  Nada Surf will also play two shows in Canada – Toronto (April 4) and Montreal (April 5).

The band formed in the mid 90s have flown under the radar for quite awhile, always the bridesmaid.  In reference to their name the generally accepted explanation is from frontman, Matthew who  said, "it's actually referring to something much more existential, it's just surfing on nothing. Being lost in your head or in your imagination but you know, whenever I listen to music I always find myself off somewhere. Somewhere in space. You know, in mental space and it's a reference to that."

Hipster!!

They're actually quiet good, check them out.
