Is there a way to stop this? Probably not, it is already too late. A new album entitled ‘Chimes Of Freedom: Songs Of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International’ will be released in 2012 and Miley Cyrus, Ke$ha and Adele are all set to contribute, each of them covering a Dylan’s song.
Adele will sing 'Make You Feel My Love', (but she already did it so on her debut album, so what’s the point?), Ke$ha will cover 'Don't Think Twice, It's Alright', while Miley Cyrus has not decided what song she is going to trash, but it will certainly be horrible. Remember when she covered Nirvana's ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’?
Ke$ha has taken the occasion to declare her love for Dylan, saying to NME:
‘When you think of me, you wouldn’t think of Bob Dylan. My music is more about the going crazy than politics. But he’s a huge influence — he writes his own music and means what he says. I write my own music and I fucking mean every word I sing.’
Yeah, I had noticed the huge influence….The compilation will also feature other covers from Sting, and The Dave Matthews Band, no doubt, other great choices! Who is going to buy this?
