Marianne Faithfull: Three Nights At New York’s City Winery

Good Ol' Marianne.  A woman as popular for for the company she keeps as the music she makes.  Supporting her new album Horses and High Heels , a three night residency is about to occur.

New York Citys Winery located at 155 Varick Street  will host the lovely lady December 18th, 19th, and 20,

The album consists of four originals and eight covers ranging from Carole King’s “Going Back” to Greg Dulli & Mark Lanegan’s “The Stations.” Four of the tracks feature guitarist John Porter (Eric Clapton, The Smiths) while Lou Reed and Dr John and Wayne Kramer each make cameos on multiple songs. This again proves the 'company you keep' theory.  The single "Why Did We Have to Part", sounds just the same as all Faithfulls songs, a cigarette rasp and a spoken lilt.  An icon none the less.
