An odd couple of days in the world of buying tix for hot concerts. On Thursday, Swedish House Mafia had a debacle on FB and ended up selling out MSG before it ever got to the general public (and people were still pissed).
This morning tix to Ryan Adam's solo gig at Carnegie Hall this December 6th at 11am. I was caught up at work but I got online to Carnegie's box office at 1104am.
Or rather, I didn't.
For ten minutes I couldn't get on the website and then when I could I couldn't get to the date and then when I could, it didn't say everything was sold out but it still wouldn't let me buy a tix,
Around 1140am I thought fuck it, obviously the Hall was overwhelmed by ticket requests, my best bet was to take the subway to 57th and 7th and buy em in person.
So I did
The woman who sold me the tix told me there was exactly three left.
I am a big Ryan Adans fan, he hasn't played locally in three years and carnegie is a 5000 seater but still… he sold out the place as fast as they could sell the tix.
The new album is out Tuesday and if it is half as good as cardinology it'll be worth the bother and then some.
