France home of the worlds greatest chanteus, we know. Francois Hardy, Johnny Haliday. ot to mention Serge Gainsboug and daughter. And France home of dance maestro David Guetta we also know.
But rock?
It has been a long time between Plastic Bertrand and Plasticines and not much to show inbetween.
Until now.
I got an email from the French Music Export Office inviting me (and you -it's free) to a two day Marathon of le rock et roll bands of France as part of the CMJ Music Marathon on October 19th and 20th/ . I don't know where it is, for some reason the French think it is more fun if you wander around the city asking strangers on the street (or maybe the French Institute, where I saw Jane Birkin perform once.
Here is the line of bands, I don't know any of em but I already love Make the Girl Dance (the videos don't work but you can cut and paste into youtube.
