Seems like a suckers game to me, originals will be awful (the last great Christmas song was the Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping") and if it is covers it'll be a complete waste of time.
Speaking of which… I haven't seen Zooey Deschanel in many movies, but the two I have, "Elf" and "500 Days Of Summer" I adored her. But fuck is she irritating in the premiere of "New Girl" on FOX.
How could they go wrong with Zooey?? Why did they turn her into a hyper sensitive, overly sweet, intensely annoying half wit? Having just broken up with her boyfriend, she moves in with three guys -each a bigger cliche then the one before them It reached its nadir near the end where the three serenade a stood up Zooey with "I've had the Time Of My Life"(she had spent a week watching "Dirty Dancing" and crying.
Perhaps it's not as bad as I make it sound and remember the first episode of a new show has tons of exposition to get through, so it is really hard to judge. Still it is the first time I've found Zooey annoying.
