Cream's "White Room" Video Review

I will start this by giving you a bit of schooling.  Cream was 1960s British hard rock group consisting of bassist/vocalist Jack Bruce, guitarist/vocalist Eric Clapton, and drummer Ginger Baker.   They were considered a 'super group'  Bluesy, psychedelic jazz fused swirly stuff just ripe for the token.

There are those of you out there who are obsessed with this band and consider them the greatest rock group of all time. There are those of you who have been inspired or conceived a kid to one of their songs.  No doubt.  This band oozes 60s sex appeal, sorta.  Well let me rephrase that if you were in the 60s I'm sure they were hot- by todays standards, the council is out.

Ginger Baker behind the kit smoking a cigarette and wearing grandmothers curtain is enough intro than I can take- but add to that the Jack Bruce telling the audience to 'shhh' is freaking hilarious.  At points in this video it almost seems as if the three are playing different songs- that must be the psychedelic.

But what cannot be disputed is what a really cool vocalist Bruce was.  Ginger and Clapton may have been the more household names but that distinct voice is freakin killer.  Since I am not a fan of guitar or drum solo's its without doubt that I would find the vocalist the most interesting, and I do.

Lyrically, its a hash brownie with a mushroom chaser.  It makes no damn sense but I don't suppose there was a big message going on.  At about 3:42 I'm ready to hit the mute button.  Ok rock on boys.

Cream didn't suck.  They were pretty cool actually.  I hear their reunion tours don't suck either but I would not attend.  Instead I decided to float back in time today to something old that is totally new to me.  Not too shabby.
