Superheavy, the band featuring Mick Jagger, Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, Joss Stone, Damien Marley and A.R. Rahman has an album coming up on September 20th.
The album was mostly put together in Los Angeles, following numerous sessions recorded around the world. And no I haven’t listened to it, I don’t even know if I want to actually, but I have just seen that the album artwork is once again designed by Shepard Fairey, the artist responsible for the Obey campaign, for many other album covers (Smashing Pumpkins, Led Zeppelin compilation, Stone temple Pilot, The Black Eyed Peas, Flogging Molly, Anthrax…), and of course for the iconic red and blue Hope/Progress image used in Barack Obama’s campaign.
The deluxe version of the album will feature 4 bonus tracks complete with expanded artwork by Shepard Fairey. This guy is everywhere, and knows everyone in the music business, I even ran into him at the Dhani Harrison gig a few weeks ago!
