Seems “Shame on the 40/40 Club for Hurting NYC” is a banner hanging outside the club owned by Jay Z
The beef? Apparently ‘substandard wage’ and not using union workers have earned the giant inflatable rats a new home outside the venue. The company hired Conelle Construction, apparently does not have benefits offered to Union employees, thus are considered rats by union participants.
Huge issue here, we all know the power of unions and like them or not, they exist and they don’t lie down. What bugs me is why they think this will stop any sort of action on Jay Z’s part. The work is being done and at this point it’s a joke to complain. You lost the bid- that’s that. If workers at Conelle don’t mind then its bully man tactics and anyway those giant rats are scary and they’re bad for tourism.
The club is scheduled to reopen on November 1st, you can bring cheese as a gesture I suppose but I doubt you’ll ever get in anyway. Ahh, America- so tolerant.
