There's a lot to say about Evan Dando, unfortunately most of it is kinda blah-y. Dando is like your best friend in High School who became a dentist. got addicted to laughing glass, and is no cooler for it.
I caught him at Mercury Lounge last year with Juliana Hatfield for a midnight show and they had all the ignition power of a Vauxhall Viva.
So not none, right?
He is still a good looking fellow and he can still write a song. Varshons wasn't the worst album of 2009, it was just, well forgettable. He is as bland as his jingle jangle surfer dude in decline good looks.
Does this mean I'm a pass at his two nights at the Bowery Ballroom? Yeah, I think so. Even though the Lemonheads are promising to cover It's A Shame About Ray in its entirety. A good album, so is Car, Button Cloth (they all sink! -hahahahaaa). And Come And Feel The Lemonheads was no slouch either…
So two nights at the Bowery: October 9th and October… a touch buyer be be warned but he could as easily kill.
