I get totally excited when I get Fatboy mail. I'm not exactly a dance girl but I adore this guys work. You get about 30 min per song is pretty cool too. Figure you can run all your errands and get home before the thing ends. Raised on 2 minute punk rock its no wonder I find this so fascinating.
Fatboy came into my life with the infamous "Rockafeller Skank' in 1998, and hasn't left yet. The fun dance beat is not as annoying as some 'house' or 'techno' and has some unique characteristics that I have yet to appreciate in others, such as the absurd volume fluctuations. Best to stay close to the volume button.
We have a new free download todaqy "Ibiza Mix" from Fats 2006 visit. He's back to that sunny place and offered this up as a nice freebie via email. The issue of course with the free download is the repetition of the sampling. That's some high falutin dance reference but its true. When a song runs plus 20 minutes and you can pick out the beats you've heard before chances are its overdone.
But the operative word here is free. Free music from a genius and although the hook may be a very familiar one it is still as fun. I'd call this one straight up jump up and down on the bed dancing material. Pointless, silly and perfectly Fatboy Slim.
Score it here and don't hit your head on the ceiling fan.
